A historic art-landscape will be opened up to a new level of experience. Pictures and scenes will be staged in the tradition of a garden stroll that would require a day’s walk. This would prevent the historic garden from shrinking into an open-air museum of the 18th century. SILVERSTOWE PIER restores the standards of Lord Cobham’s vision for new groups of visitors. The elitist ritual of “country house visiting” is developed further into an attraction of “democratic luxury.” |
