The garden areas should be adapted for contemporary forms of games and movement (a pool has recently been installed); the existing plantings should be preserved as far as possible and complemented. Viewed in relation to the character of the house and current demands for movement, the garden seems too constricted. To be regarded as a garden, it lacks a possibility for experiencing it along a pathway through the grounds. Actually this is not a garden at all; instead, it consists of two "stages": 1) the original Art Nouveau garden which, with its terraces, tea temple, greenhouse and system of paths, is an extension of the architecture of the house; 2) the west garden, purchased later, which was supposed to be united with the Art Nouveau garden, though the attempt must be labeled a failure ("illogical path system," Kosicek-Schöberl).
