Graz Reininghaus
The approx 540,000 m2 area of the former brewery Reininghaus in the West of Graz is the site of an innovative and spectacular city development project. In Graz-Reininghaus a new urban quarter accommodating 12,000 people is being built on a surface of the size of Graz’s historical city centre and only at a distance of 1.8 km off it.
Asset One AG’s aim is to offer a futurable development in close cooperation with the city and its citizens.
The green- and free space shall play a major role in the quarter’s development.
Aim of the concept phase
The development process Graz-Reininghaus is currently situated in the transition of an abstract level of thought and strategy towards a more factual and location-related procedure. This is where the current conceptual phase for the green- and free space is introduced. Visions for the functioning, shaping, utilisation and composition of the free space offer shall be developed and formulated, condensed in concepts and worked out in exemplified details.
Nominating a winner at the end of the process is not considered an aim, it’s more about getting different inputs for the development of this city quarter by having a wider approach.
