1 km N of town center, area: 6 ha. 1972 Founding of Montfort Athletic Club, Mösle Stadium. 1974 First track and field combined event meeting. The meeting has become a top international event. Numerous records were set here. High point was the historic decathlon world record set in 2002 by Roman Sebrle (CZ) with 9026 points. 2004 IAAF World Challenge Meeting (Men’s decathlon, Women’s heptathlon), 30 year jubilee under the name, Hypo Meeting. The Mösle Stadium, together with a tennis club and the Götzis grammar school, lies in a big meadow of approximately 20 hectares. Its present appearance does not correspond at all to the frequently quoted “Götzis myth.” |
