Orderly Nature
Compared with ist possibilities, the condition of the Lustenau is very poor. In the Linz plan for green areas, the degree of ist continuous green is labeled insufficient, a classification that does not correspond with the facts. The municipal efforts are limited to caring for the green that borders traffic arteries. Many companies often conspicuously „decorate“ their grounds with of conifers (pines, spruches, larches, Swiss pines) in a modest horticultural attempt. This destroys the original character of the Lustenau. It shouldbe seen as a „hard riverine meadow“ (poplar, willow, maple, alder, etc.) and even today is still good ground for vegetable gardens and fields (Flachenauer Farm, Lahmer, allotment gardens). This characteristic should be retained and cultivated. Despite abortive developments, the sum of the horticultural activities is remarkable. It is basically an indication of joy and pleasure in nature, of longings for paradise.
